ザキCards
An OLED-friendly flashcard app for Windows: your study cards on a pure black screen.
What it is
My laptop has an OLED screen, and I wanted to study while it sat on my desk without burning anything in. ザキCards plays flashcards fullscreen on pure black: question, then answer, then a black gap. Every card lands in a slightly different spot, so no pixel stays lit for long.
What it does
- Reads Anki collections directly with my own parser for Anki's file format (templates, cloze, furigana), never touching the real files
- Imports .apkg packages and CSV word lists, or you write your own decks in the app
- Hold the mouse on a card to keep reading it, star cards you missed, sleep timer, drifting clock in the black gap
- Settings for accent colour, card size, width, font, animations and fullscreen behaviour
- English and Japanese UI
Built with
Python, pywebview, HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Packaged as a Windows .exe. Logo and UI designed by me.
